Biography
Born and raised in Nome, Patricia has spent more than five decades building bridges between science and Indigenous knowledge. As Executive Director of the Alaska Native Science Commission, she works to ensure that research affecting Alaska Native communities is collaborative, respectful, and community-driven.
Patricia has helped shape international conversations on climate change, Arctic governance, and Indigenous rights, leading global forums and representing Arctic peoples at the United Nations and beyond. Her work emphasizes that solutions in northern regions must be grounded in community experience and cultural context.
Outside of Work
Patricia is widely recognized as a mentor, advocate, and trusted voice for northern and Indigenous communities.
