
Stacy Rasmus
Biography
Dr. Stacy Rasmus is a social scientist and health equity researcher working with Indigenous communities across the Arctic, Subarctic, and Pacific Northwest. As Director of the Center for Alaska Native Health Research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she leads Indigenous-driven research grounded in cultural knowledge and community priorities.
Her work emphasizes strengths-based approaches to wellness, resilience, and prevention, particularly in addressing suicide and substance misuse. Dr. Rasmus has played a key role in developing nationally funded research programs that translate Indigenous knowledge into effective, culturally grounded health interventions.
